The Russian Republic

A breakaway region of the Russian Empire sandwiched between the United Baltic States and East Poland. The Russian Republic was founded by fleeing members of the Russian nobility during the Russian Civil War. Originally founded as a kingdom, a revolution in 1952 saw the Tsar overthrown and a constitutional republic instituted. The Russian Empire claims the breakaway region. Over the years, and despite its change in government, it has received the nominal protection of the Empire of Australia and Russia has failed to make good on its threats to bring the errant region to heel.
