The Lessa Light is a low-energy, high-brightness electrical light developed for use at sea by Alessa d’Poitiers to replace dangerous oil lamps and high-energy electrical lamps that would often cause destructive fires on ships at sea.
Although initially developed for use at sea, the Lessa Light came to be used across the Empire of Australia as it was more efficient than existing land-based lamps.
