First Confederation

The First Confederation is the name for the trading partnership created by the Clackamas, Clatsop, Multnomah, and Chinook nations. The confederation lasted just six years from 1497 to 1503, before collapsing amid infighting caused by differing cultural practices.

Amongst the biggest accomplishments was the creation of a trading hub at the confluence of the Wallamet River with the Wimahl River.

The First Confederation was responsible for first contact between the Empire of Australia and the nations of Cascadia.
